Are you suggesting that military expenditure is shameful?
No. Everyone has the right to defend themselves, their Tribe and their planet, but what if all wars ceased within a few years? There would be a lot of happy people, mostly tax payers. What if 12% of the above resource, was used to provide infrastructure to millions of volunteers in some kind of grand rebuilding scheme, such as turning the Sahara Desert into a food growing region of the world.
